Bought the Geist 485 as a change and hopefully better build quality. Having returned from a 9 week tour of Europe I can say the following plus points. (1) The bathroom shower / hot water heater is superb. (2) The general build qualty is good.(3) We like the removable carpets. On the negative side (1) We (along with other owners) have had numerous problems with the bed collapsing. (2) Proud head screws where the table is stored has meant two lovely score marks along the table. (3) The main door lock failed. (Fortunately I had fitted a Fiamma external security handle so we had some security.) (4) The battery box lid has fell apart.Other minor problems there were but in these modern days in seems the norm. e.g. Who designed the stupid handle for the grill pan?
The major problems are due to be fixed by the dealer - Roper's- however, we were not impressed with their rather laid back attitude.
All in all we like the caravan but it would be nice if we could sleep together without the bed collapsing in the night!
