I purchased my LV550L in April 2005 and have waited till now to pass on my comments as I have now had a chance to properly access the caravan having toured France for a month and used it on a variety of sites for extended weekends. On the whole I am quite satisfied with the LV550L, solid build, stable tow, etc. but there are a few points I would like to pass comment on.
1) I have had to augment the lighting as it uses 10w spot lamps and there aren't enough of them to illuminate the kitchen/living area of the van
properly.
2) The outside door opens the wrong way if you want to use a porch awning.
3) The handbook and brochure gives a full awning size as 1024 which is a size above what it should be, (I have since seen it stated in caravan publications as 1004 which it should be, as I have found to my cost).
3) The electric heating is inadequate for heating the front lounge as the heating duct goes under the floor and comes up behind the cooker, along the back of the fridge, right round the front of the van and ends at 2 vents on the same side of the van it started from, at the other side of the door. By the time it reaches here there is hardly any airflow and any heat there was has already dissipated. Re-routing is a modification I will have to perform to make use of it for off-season/winter usage.
I would still recomend the Geist and the problems I have pointed out I can rectify myself (Nothing is ever perfect for all men)
